Galvanized
Features: Zinc is stable in dry air, not easy to change color, in water and humid atmosphere with oxygen or carbon dioxide to produce oxides or alkaline zinc carbonate film, can prevent zinc continued oxidation, play a protective role.
Zinc is highly susceptible to corrosion in acids and alkalis and sulphides. Galvanized layer is generally passivated, in chromic acid or in chromate liquid passivation, because the formation of passivation film is not easy to act with humid air, corrosion resistance is greatly enhanced. For spring parts, thin-walled parts (0.5m wall thickness) and steel parts that require high mechanical strength, hydrogen removal must be performed, and copper and copper alloy parts must be dehydrogenated.
Zinc plating costs are low, processing is convenient, the effect of good zinc standard potence is negative, so zinc plating for many metals are anode plating.
Application: Widespread use of galvanizing in atmospheric conditions and other good environments. However, it is not suitable for friction parts.
