This type of material is strong, the cutting stress is large, the plastic deformation is large, so the cutting force is large. In addition, the material heat conductivity is extremely poor, resulting in increased cutting temperature, and high temperatures are often concentrated in a narrow area near the tool blade, thus speeding up tool wear.


Austereo stainless steel and some high-temperature alloy stainless steel are Australoid tissue, cutting process hardening tendency is large, usually several times the ordinary carbon steel, tools in the machining hardening area cutting, so that the tool life is shortened.


Both Austereo stainless steel and Mars stainless steel are characterized by strong chip cutting and high cutting temperature during processing. When strong chips flow through the front face, it will produce bonding, welding and other sticky knife phenomena, affecting the surface roughness of the processing parts.


The above materials generally contain high melting point elements, plasticity, high cutting temperature, so that tool wear faster, grinding, knife change frequently, thus affecting production efficiency, improve the cost of tool use.

Its tool life is dozens of times that of carbide or ceramic tools.


When boring stainless steel materials with ceramic tools, in most cases, ceramic tools are cut with a negative front angle. The size of the front corner should generally be selected from -5 to -12 degrees. This is conducive to strengthening the cutting edge, give full play to the ceramic tool pressure strength of the advantages. The size of the rear corner directly affects tool wear, and also has an effect on the strength of the cutting edge, generally using 5 to 12 degrees. Changes in the main offset affect the change in radial and axial cutting forces, as well as the size of the cutting width and cutting thickness. Because the vibration of the process system is very unfavorable to ceramic tools, the choice of the main angle should be conducive to reducing this vibration, generally choose 30 to 75 degrees. When using CBN as the tool material, the geometric parameters of the tool are 0 to 10 degrees in front angle, 12 to 20 degrees in the rear angle, and 45 to 90 degrees in the main angle.
