Research on Machining Process of High Precision and Complex Oblique Bearing


A complex titanium alloy casing is an important load-bearing component on a new type of aero engine. The precision oblique bearing holes at both ends of the large supporting plate in the inner cavity of the casing are mainly used to install bearings and support the rotation and transmission torque of the bevel gear shaft assembly. It is the part with the highest precision and the most difficult machining. Its machining accuracy is directly related to The quality of the entire aero engine.


The casing is a large integrally cast titanium alloy casing (Figure 1), which has the characteristics of large size, thin wall and easy deformation, and complex structure. The part material is cast titanium alloy ZTC4, which has excellent high-temperature strength and hardness. It is a typical difficult-to-machine material. The main features are: small contact area between the tool and chip, large stress, high temperature, tool bonding wear, and diffusion wear during processing. Serious [1]. The two precision oblique bearing holes have extremely high dimensional accuracy, shape and position requirements and surface quality requirements, with a diameter tolerance of 0.015, a cylindricity of 0.005, a coaxiality of 0.01, a perpendicularity of 0.01, and a surface roughness of Ra0.4 to 0.8 (Figure 2). In order to ensure the quality of the bearing hole processing, the following processing conditions must be met: good clamping rigidity of the parts, high positioning accuracy of the machine tool, and good cutting rigidity of the tool. It is best to use grinding or precision high-speed turning.


The two bearing holes are in the complex and narrow special-shaped support plate cavity. The axis and the reference plane form an angle of 18° (Figure 2). Due to the limitation of the part structure, grinding and turning cannot be carried out, and the machining accuracy of the bearing holes is not easy to guarantee. Aiming at the complicated structure of the precision oblique bearing hole of the casing, this paper analyzes and formulates the five-axis machining of the angle head and the one-time clamping and machining plan of the large length-diameter ratio tool to carry out experimental research, and systematically elaborates a complex precision oblique bearing hole The processing method.
