How to improve the processing accuracy of thin-walled parts


Thin-walled parts have been increasingly used in various industrial sectors due to their light weight, material savings and compact structure. However, the processing of thin-walled parts is more difficult, because thin-walled parts are less rigid, weak strength, in the processing is very easy to deform, not easy to ensure the processing quality of parts. How to improve the processing accuracy of thin-walled parts will be a topic of increasing concern to the industry.


The processing of thin-walled parts has always been difficult to solve. At present, thin-walled parts are generally machined by CNC turning, so we should test the clamping of work parts, tool geometry parameters, program preparation and so on, so as to effectively overcome the deformation in the process of thin-walled parts processing, to ensure the accuracy of processing. There are many factors that affect the processing accuracy of thin-walled parts, but there are three main aspects to the generalization:


Forced

Due to the thin wall of the work piece, it is easy to produce deformation under the influence of clamping force, which affects the dimensional accuracy and shape accuracy of the work piece, as shown in Figure 1. Subject to heat change


Due to the thinness of the work part, cutting heat will cause hot deformation of the work piece, making the work part size difficult to control. Vibration deformation


Under the influence of cutting force (especially radial cutting force), it is easy to produce vibration and deformation, which affects the size accuracy, shape, position accuracy and surface roughness of the work piece.


Now that the factors affecting the processing of thin-walled parts have been found, how can we improve the processing accuracy of thin-walled parts? Next, the author will introduce measures to improve the precision and efficiency of thin-walled parts processing through concrete examples.


The thin-walled parts shown in Figure 2 are the more difficult parts in the external processing products of our CNC crib. The equipment is equipped with Guangzhou CNC system GSK980T CNC crib. In order to improve the pass rate of the product, we consider the loading of work tools, tool geometry parameters, program preparation and so on, and the practice proves that the accuracy of parts is effectively improved to ensure the quality of the product.
