AO Bone Drill Attachment-2

What is an AO Bone Drill Attachment?

The AO Bone Drill Attachment is designed for use with the AO Bone Drill, a standard tool in orthopedic surgery that meets AO/ASIF (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen/Association for the Study of Internal Fixation) standards. These standards are established by an international orthopedic organization that provides guidelines for fracture treatment and bone repair.

Specifically engineered for fracture fixation and bone reconstruction surgeries, the AO Bone Drill features a high-speed rotating drill bit and precise depth control, ensuring accurate bone drilling. This versatile tool is used for various fracture treatments, such as inserting screws, nails, or other fixation devices. The AO Bone Drill and its attachments are essential for ensuring precision and reliability during surgeries, helping surgeons install screws and pins to stabilize bones for safe and effective orthopedic procedures.

AO Bone Drill Attachment Product Specifications

The AO Bone Drill Attachment is crafted from high-strength, biocompatible stainless steels such as 304, 316L, and 440C, ensuring both durability and minimal tissue damage during surgeries. It is corrosion-resistant and meets the rigorous demands of orthopedic procedures. With a hardness range of HRC 52-56 (630) and HRC 58-65 (440C), and a surface roughness of Ra < 0.4μm, it guarantees precision and reliability. Operating at 1200 rpm, with a chuck clamping diameter of 0.8-8mm and a tolerance of +/- 0.01mm, the attachment is produced using advanced 5-axis CNC machining. It meets ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485 standards, ensuring top-quality performance for safe and effective orthopedic surgeries.

These parameters are for reference; we offer full customization to meet your specific needs, including material selection, shape design, and machining processes. Custom packaging is available upon request.

Manufacturing Process for AO Bone Drill Attachment

The manufacture of the AO Bone Drill Attachment involves advanced CNC machining techniques including milling, drilling and turning to ensure precise and high quality production. Our manufacturing process utilizes state-of-the-art equipment such as the Japan Mazak QTE-100MSYL and the Citizen Cincom L12-1M7 to achieve exceptional accuracy and consistency.

The Mazak QTE-100MSYL features 5-axis capability, enabling intricate designs with a remarkable tolerance of +/- 0.01mm. Its powerful 20-hp main spindle and 10-hp secondary spindle provide high-speed rotation, while its integrated design reduces maintenance and improves part quality. Automated features such as an automatic door and bar feeder streamline operations, making it ideal for producing precision instruments beyond surgical applications.

The Citizen Cincom L12-1M7 is a state-of-the-art Swiss turning center equipped with Citizen's user-friendly editing function, which supports multi-line, multi-axis programming along with superimposed and synchronized control. The L12 comes standard with a detachable guide bushing, allowing it to be used as a traditional guide bushing type lathe for long, small-diameter workpieces. With the guide bush removed, the machine can efficiently machine short workpieces, minimizing material waste.

After CNC machining, electrolytic polishing - also known as electropolishing, anodic polishing or electrochemical polishing - removes imperfections and improves corrosion resistance. This technique is particularly effective for polishing and deburring delicate or complex parts, improving surface finish by reducing surface roughness by up to 50%. Rigorous ultrasonic cleaning follows, using sound waves to penetrate all surfaces and hidden passages, effectively removing contaminants without abrasion when properly adjusted. Each attachment then undergoes a thorough quality inspection to ensure dimensional accuracy and structural integrity.
