Bimetallic thermometers work by using two different coefficients of temperature expansion of the metal, in order to improve temperature sensitivity, usually the metal sheet into a spiral shape, when the temperature of the multi-layer metal sheet changes, the metal expansion or contraction of different layers, so that the spiral roll up or loose.
Since one end of the spiral volume is fixed and the other end is connected to a free-rotating pointer, the pointer can indicate the temperature on a circular scale when the bimetallic sheet feels the temperature change.
The temperature range of this instrument is generally between -80 degrees C and 500 degrees C, and the allowable error is about 1.5% of the scale range.
Classification:
Ordinary bimetallic thermometers, shock-resistant bimetallic thermometers, electric node bimetallic thermometers.
According to the direction of connection between the bimetallic thermometer needle plate and the protective tube, the bimetallic thermometer can be divided into axial, radial, 135-degree and 10,000-way.
(1) Axial bimetallic thermometer: the needle plate is connected vertically with the protective tube.
(2) Radial bimetallic thermometer: the needle disc is connected in parallel with the protective tube.
(3) 135-degree bimetallic thermometer: the needle plate and the protective tube into a 135-degree connection.
(4) 10,000-way bimetallic thermometer: the angle of connection between the needle disc and the protective tube can be adjusted arbitrarily.
