According to the cooling rate of cylinder forgings after forging, there are three cooling methods for cylinder forgings: cooling in air, which is faster; cooling in a pit (box), which is slower, and cooling in furnace, which is the slowest.

Cool in the air

After forging, the cylinder forgings are forged individually or in piles and placed directly on the workshop floor to cool, but they should not be placed on damp ground or metal plates, nor in places with excessive wind, so as to avoid uneven cooling of the forgings or cracks caused by local rapid cooling
