What is the role of metal tubes in these vehicle safety systems?

Metal tubes of different sizes are used in airbag systems. For example, large metal tubes with perforated outer diameters of 25-65 mm are used for filling tanks containing propellants. However, we are more interested in very small tubes, which play a central role in the sensors used in airbag systems.
Crash sensors that tell airbags when to deploy are probably the most important part of these car safety systems. After all, you want to make sure the airbag deploys when it should. Again, you don't want it to expand unexpectedly due to environmental conditions.
One of the collision sensors commonly used in these automotive safety systems is an electromechanical "gas damper ball and tube" design. Here, the sensor consists of a small steel ball attached by magnets to one end of a metal tube; At the other end of the pipe are two open contacts (a switch). When it hits with enough force, it loosens the ball from the magnet. The ball rolls down the metal tube to the end and turns off the circuit - setting the airbag to action in a millisecond.
Today's crash sensors are calibrated to prevent airbags from inflating as the car goes over a bump or pothole or in the case of a minor crash. Part of correctly calibrating these automotive safety systems is making sure the sensor components (including the tubes) are as accurate as possible. Metal tubes used in collision sensors must meet dimensional and functional requirements, have clean cuts and very strict thickness and eccentricity tolerances. Metal tubes must also be able to maintain their properties and withstand harsh environmental conditions.
There are other types of crash sensors, and many newer vehicles have solid state crash sensors that generate electrical signals during turbulence. Automakers are also developing adaptive airbag systems that can change their deployment speed and force based on the occupant's size, seat position and impact speed.
As these technologies and other automotive safety systems advance, metal cutting will continue to meet the needs of the automotive industry here. As a precision metal working company, we are specialists in cutting, grinding, grinding and polishing to strict tolerances of all metals for automotive safety systems as well as fuel injection systems and lighting systems. We also offer secondary operations such as small diameter tubing, wire and bar bending, Angle cutting and pointing and slotting. In addition, tungsten and molybdenum products such as wire, ribbon and rod are also available.
Pride processing products in Europe and the United States, Japan and South Korea, the Middle East, Southeast Asia are widely praised.
