In recent days, a major breakthrough has been made in the study of driven devices, an important component of robot movement, with a team of scientists from the University of Pennsylvania and Cornell University in the United States making robots smaller than 0.1 mm in size (about the width of a human hair) for the first time, and with the ability to mass produce a 4-inch silicon wafer that can make about 1 million of them simultaneously. The study was published online in Nature, a top international journal, entitled "Electronically integrated, mass-manufactured, microscopic robots". Although small in size, they are very strong, and in the future, these tiny robots may be able to shuttle between human tissue and blood, perform surgeonial operations, stitch up blood vessels, detect the human brain, and so on.
