Aluminum castings have low cost, good manufacturability, remelting and regeneration to save resources and energy, so the application and development of this material will last forever. Such as research and development of cupola-electric furnace dual smelting technology and equipment; extensive use of advanced molten iron desulfurization and filtration technology; thin-wall high-strength iron casting manufacturing technology; cast iron composite material manufacturing technology; iron casting surface or local strengthening technology, etc. Special techniques and equipment such as metal mold casting, metal mold sand-coated casting, continuous casting, etc. Because of its low density, high specific strength, corrosion resistance and a series of excellent characteristics, cast aluminum casting light alloys will be widely used in various industries such as aviation, aerospace, automobiles, and machinery. Especially in the automotive industry, aluminum castings are widely used in every industry.

Aluminum casting is a kind of pressure casting part. It uses a pressure casting mechanical die casting machine with a casting mold to pour the heated liquid aluminum or aluminum alloy into the inlet of the die casting machine, and then die casting by the die casting machine to cast out the mold. Aluminum parts or aluminum alloy parts with restricted shapes and sizes, such parts are usually called cast aluminum parts. Aluminum castings have different names in different places, such as aluminum die casting parts, aluminum casting parts, and aluminum castings.

Nine inspection rules for aluminum castings:

1. Inspection of chemical composition:

The inspection methods, inspection rules and re-inspection of the chemical composition of aluminum alloys should meet the requirements of GB/T15115.

The sample of chemical composition can also be taken from cast aluminum, but it must meet the requirements of GB/T15115.

2. Mechanical performance inspection:

The inspection method, inspection frequency and inspection rules of mechanical properties shall comply with the requirements of GB/T15115.

When the aluminum casting body is used as the sample, the size and test form of the cut part shall be negotiated between the supplier and the buyer.

3. The geometric dimensions of the aluminum castings can be inspected according to batch inspection or according to the provisions of GB2828 and GB2829, and the inspection results should meet the provisions of 3.3 of this standard.

4. The ex-factory inspection of the surface quality of cast aluminum parts shall be inspected one by one, and the inspection results shall meet the requirements of this standard.

5. The surface of cast aluminum parts that need to be shot blasted and sandblasted shall be implemented in accordance with the provisions of GB/T6060.5.

6. The surface roughness of aluminum castings shall be implemented in accordance with the provisions of GB/T6060.1.

7. The test methods and inspection rules for the internal quality of aluminum castings may include: X-ray photographs, non-destructive testing, metallographic pictures, and aluminum casting sections. The inspection results should meet the requirements of 3.4.6 of this standard.

8. The surface of aluminum castings to be polished shall be implemented in accordance with the provisions of GB/T6060.4.

9. Other test methods and inspection rules shall be implemented in accordance with GB/T15114.
