The processing of the dinner plate is used as an example to illustrate the processing steps. Open the UG software to shape the dinner plate and perform the following operations:
1. Enter the UG processing interface and move the processing coordinate system. Under the geometric view interface, click the coordinate system to set the safety distance to 20mm, as shown in Figure 1. Define the blank for cutting simulation. In the cutting geometry window, click the finger part to define the meal tray as the finger part. In the "Define Blank" dialog box, select the containment block option. The system automatically calculates the model's bounding box, plus 5 chambers in the left and right directions, plus 5 mm in the Y axis, and Z positive in the Y axis direction. Add 5 meters to the direction. Figure 1 establishes the coordinate system.
2. The machining allowance for cavity milling and roughing is 05mm. Click the machine view to define the T1D16R1 tool. In the "Create Tool" dialog box, define a diameter of 16 mm and a radius of 1.0 mm. The tool number, compensation register, and tool compensation register in the number area are all in the text boxes. Enter 1, other parameters default settings, click the OK button to complete the tool creation. After the cavity milling and roughing parameters are set, click to determine the overall blank as the addition area. Set the general parameters and non-cutting movement parameters. Set the feed rate. Spindle speed is set to 1000r/min. Feed rate is 300mm/min. Click to generate the tool path The machining track can be generated.
3. Create upper plane milling finishing process. Adjust the process navigator to the machine tool view to create a T2D12 plane milling cutter. Select the process command type drop-down list in the drop-down menu. Select the mill-pianar option. In the process sub-menu area, click the PLANAR- PROFILE button. In the tool list, select the T2D12 option in the geometry. Select the WORKPIECE option in the drop-down list and select the mi-finish option in the method drop-down list to use the system default name. Figure 2 The processing method of the dinner plate. Create a part boundary. Select the Ignore hole check box in the face selection area of the Boundary Geometry dialog box and select the upper surface of the dinner plate in the drawing area. Generate tool path.
4. Use T2D12 milling cutter for plane contour milling and T3B8 ball cutter for deep processing contour of dinner plate.
