How to choose turning tool

Turning parts means making full use of a CNC lathe to complete the production and processing of enterprise products on a lathe. It uses the automatic rotary motion of the workpiece and the uniform linear motion or circular motion of the CNC tool to change the shape and specifications of the blank. It is finished into standards suitable for design drawings. In the actual production and processing process, the turning parts are not static, so the choice of turning tool for cutting parts is also very knowledgeable. Today Wofu will discuss the selection skills of turning tool for cutting parts with you.

1. Confirm the main declination of CNC tool. Among the main declination angles of conventional CNC tools, those suitable for CNC machining are usually between 90° and 95°, especially 91°, 93° and 95°. The main declination angle close to 90° causes the cutting speed to be oriented along the axis of the workpiece, and it is not easy to apply a vertical force to the workpiece to avoid the formation of vibration and deformation (thin-walled parts production and processing is even more important) . The lead angle is usually secured on the arbor.

Turning parts

Second, determine the angle of the tool tip and choose the general CNC tool style. The types of blades we can use are: round blade (R head), 90 degree square head (S head), 80 triangle head (C beginning), 80 degree convex Triangular blade (starting with W), 60-degree triangular head (starting with T), 55-degree prismatic blade (starting with D), and 35-degree diamond blade (starting with V). Those CNC tool styles basically cover about 90% of basic turning inserts. These types of blades are ordered from the compressive strength of CNC tools: R, S, C (W), D, V. The R blade has the highest compressive strength and the lowest V. However, the higher the strength, the greater the resulting resistance and the greater the risk of vibration. Therefore, people often choose R, S, C (W) for finishing. For rough machining, everyone will choose D, V. The profiling work ability necessary for finishing is V best and R worst.
