Pickling inspection process
There are obvious differences in the microstructure of various types of grinding burns, and they will show differences in corrosion resistance. Therefore, different color characteristics are revealed after pickling to check various types of grinding burns.
1. Choose W18C4V steel for pickling solution, which is a high alloy tool steel with a high content of fishing. At room temperature, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrogen sulfonic acid, etc. cannot dissolve tungsten. As we all know, the corrosion resistance of chromium is also strong, so the composition and ratio test of the etching solution is the key to the process.
After a lot of experiments, it is determined that the 3~5% HNO3 solution is added with an appropriate amount of oxidant and complexing agent as the pickling solution of W6Cr4V. The addition of the oxidant complexing agent is conducive to moderately sour the steel parts. At room temperature, the surface of the parts after acid etching with this pickling solution is smooth and even. After being clarified, different types of burns have high contrast, high sensitivity, and smooth display. Moreover, the amount of pickling is small, which fully meets the requirements of grinding burn inspection.
Selection of Minghua Liquid
Because W8r4V has a high carbon content (0.700.80%), and contains more than 20% of W, Or, V and other strong carbide forming elements. After the parts are tempered three times at 560°C, a large number of fine dispersed alloy carbides are precipitated in the structure, especially stable carbides such as MeaC, Me20, MeO, Me23Ca, etc., which are insoluble in ordinary acids at room temperature. Therefore, after the acid etching, there is still a layer of black carbon kernel that hinders the observation of burns. The test chooses a minghua solution that can quickly dissolve and destroy carbides at room temperature, which is conducive to the inspection of grinding burns.
The test shows that the two-step clearing after pickling can clearly reveal the burn characteristics of the surface of W18CrV parts. The first minghua solution is an alkaline solution of 3~5%KMnO4+5~7%NasPO4. KMnO4 is an ideal oxidant for decomposing and destroying carbides. It can give full play to its oxidizing ability in acidic or alkaline media. Choosing an alkaline solution can avoid excessive corrosion of parts during the Minghua process. Adding Na3PO4 can provide six houses of PO, complexing with metal ions such as Fe3+ and W peaks generated by the decomposition of carbides, which is conducive to the dissolution of carbides and enhances the brightness The chemical effect can also improve the stability of Minghua Liquid.
After the first bath decomposes the carbides, KMnO is deposited on the surface of the parts by the brown MnO2 precipitation, which still obstructs the observation. After the second bath, the MnO becomes colorless Mn. Leaf, it can clearly show the characteristics of W3CrV grinding burn. The second tank clearing solution is: 10%H1+02~0.4%
