The holes of the engine cylinder head at different positions have strict geometric tolerance requirements, such as the machining of camshaft holes and vacuum pump holes. Using the five-axis CNC with A+B axis to machine these holes can realize multi-face machining at one time, eliminating the accuracy loss caused by clamping deviation between different faces. Combined with the optimized matching of fixtures, tool programs, etc., the engine cylinder head can be placed in a small batch and multi-variety switching process to obtain better processing accuracy and data stability.

The exterior of an automobile engine is generally composed of a cylinder head cover, a cylinder head, a cylinder block, and an oil pan. The engine cylinder head cover is one of the core components of the engine. The accuracy that the engine components can obtain during the machining process has a significant impact on the fuel efficiency of the engine after the final assembly. How to obtain better machining accuracy of supervised components is one of the key considerations of each automobile engine research and development unit. For the machining process of the engine cylinder head cover, the machining of the camshaft hole and the vacuum pump hole are difficult points in the machining process. The camshaft hole of the cylinder head cover is long and discontinuously penetrated. The cylindricity and the inner surface roughness of the hole are strictly required, especially the two bearing support holes at the farthest end and the nearest end are maintained relative to 3 datums with a total length of 415mm Strict coaxiality requirements, while ensuring that the cylindrical degree of each stage in the hole is not greater than 0.007mm, conventional processing is difficult to achieve. The processing of the vacuum pump is another difficulty in the processing of the cylinder head cover. The vacuum pump hole and the camshaft long hole should maintain the coaxiality not greater than 005mm
