CNC milling removes material using a rotating tool. Either the work piece remains stationary, the tool moves to the work piece, or the work piece enters the machine at a predetermined angle. The more motion axes a machine has, the more complex and faster its molding process will be.

Three-axis CNC processing (3-axis CNC Machining)
Three-axis CNC milling is still one of the most popular and widely used machining processes. In 3-axis machining, the work piece remains fixed and the rotating tool is cut along the x, y and z axes. This is a relatively simple form of CNC processing, can manufacture simple structure of products. It is not suitable for processing complex geometry or products with complex components.
Four-axis CNC processing (4-axis CNC Machining)
In four-axis CNC milling, the fourth axis is added to the motion of the cutting tool, allowing rotation around the x-axis. There are now four axes - x-axis, y-axis, z-axis and a-axis (rotating around the x-axis). Most four-axis CNC machines also allow the workman to rotate, which is called a b-axis, so that the machine can act as both a milling machine and a bed.
4-axis CNC machining is a good choice if you need to drill on the side of a part or on the surface of a cylinder. It greatly speeds up the processing process and has high processing accuracy.

Five-axis CNC processing (5-axis CNC Machining)
Five-axis CNC milling has an additional rotating axis compared to four-axis CNC. The fifth axis rotates around the y-axis, also known as the b-axis. Workware can also be rotated on some machines, sometimes referred to as b-axis or c-axis.
Due to the high versatility of 5-axis CNC processing, it is used to manufacture complex precision parts. Such as artificial prosthetics or bones of medical components, aerospace components, titanium components, oil and gas machinery components, military products and so on.

Surface treatment, also known as surface finishing or surface coating, refers to the process of modifying the outer layer of a material to enhance its appearance, improve its corrosion resistance, increase durability, or achieve specific functional properties. In the context of CNC machining aluminum parts, surface treatment plays a crucial role in enhancing the final product's aesthetics and performance.
Anodizing: Anodizing is an electrochemical process that forms a protective oxide layer on the surface of the aluminum. It enhances corrosion resistance and can provide a range of color options. The anodized layer can also be further modified through processes like dyeing or sealing to achieve desired colors or increased durability.
Powder Coating: Powder coating involves applying a dry powder to the surface of the aluminum part, which is then cured to form a protective and decorative layer. Powder coating provides excellent durability, resistance to chemicals and weathering, and a wide range of color choices.
Polishing: Polishing is a mechanical process that involves smoothing the surface of the aluminum part using abrasives or polishing compounds. It helps achieve a glossy, mirror-like finish, improving the appearance of the part.
Brushing: Brushing, also known as satin finishing or directional finishing, involves creating a series of parallel lines or grain patterns on the surface of the aluminum part. This method enhances the aesthetics and can help hide scratches or imperfections.
Chemical Etching: Chemical etching involves selectively removing material from the surface of the aluminum part using chemical agents. It can create decorative patterns, logos, or textures on the surface, adding uniqueness and visual appeal.
Plating: Plating involves depositing a thin layer of metal, such as chrome or nickel, onto the surface of the aluminum part. This process enhances the part's appearance, provides improved corrosion resistance, and can offer specific functional properties like conductivity or solderability.
