We often hear cnc machining centers of linear and hard rails. What is the difference between them? Which one is better? Trust many people in the industry who don’t know. Let’s take a look at what is a hard rail machining center and what It is a linear rail machining center. What is the difference between the two and which one is better?
1. Hard track machining center meter
Generally refers to the integrated casting of the guide rail and the bed body, and the material number is generally not lower than HT250, and the Brinell hardness of the body is between HB180-HB240. After the high-frequency or super-audio frequency quenching treatment of the guide rail, the hardness will generally be above HRC50°, so that it has excellent wear resistance (inlaid steel rails are also classified as a kind of hard rail). The hard rails used in CNC machining centers are generally rectangular structures, which is what we often call rectangular guide rails;
The main advantages are: the large sliding contact surface of the hard rail makes the machine tool strong and stable;
The main disadvantages are: due to the large contact surface, the friction resistance is also large, the wear is fast, the moving speed is limited, and the crawling phenomenon is easy to occur. Therefore, most machining center manufacturers use guide rails to reduce the wear and crawling defects of hard rails;

2. CNC precision machining of wire rail
Its full name is a linear guide CNC machining center, which refers to a roll guide. The common structure has two kinds of ball guide rail and roller guide rail, the difference is that the ball guide rail is point contact type, the roller guide rail is linear contact type, its principle is the same, the same is to roll on the guide rail to drive slip.
The strengths are reflected in the following aspects:
1. The linear guide rail is supported by the rolling parts, and its rolling and sliding function is stronger than the hard rail friction and sliding function, and there is no crawling phenomenon;
2. The same because the friction coefficient is small, so the wear is small;
3. Because of its small friction coefficient, it moves faster;
4. It is convenient for later repairs. After the guide rail is worn, the line rail is convenient to replace, the hard rail is more troublesome, because the gap needs to be adjusted;
5. Generally, the linear guide rails are made of better materials and finer equipment, so their accuracy is also higher;
The main disadvantages are: due to its small contact surface, its rigidity is lower than the hard rail;
3. Which is better for CNC precision machining of wire rail and hard rail?
The speed of the wire rail is fast and the precision is high. It is suitable for high-speed machines, capable of high-speed cutting, and suitable for processing small fine molds. The pre-tightening treatment of the line rail can achieve zero gap between the rails. The hard rail is due to dry friction, heavy load and high strength suitable for heavy cutting. The movement of the hard rail can only be carried out when there is a gap in the mobile surface, and the friction coefficient is large, and it is easy to cause blocking, which leads to processing errors and is mostly used in the case of heavy loads. Suitable for processing workpieces with high hardness and low precision.
In fact, there is no good or bad difference between the hard track and the line track, only to say whether it is suitable. Due to their different emphasis on processing, the linear rail machining center meter tends to process workpieces with small hardness and high precision. The hard rail machining center meter focuses on workpiece processing with low hardness and high precision requirements. Therefore, the processing manufacturer should be based on its own product type To choose the right machine tool equipment;
