The gearbox is an important mechanical component widely used in wind turbines. Its main function is to transmit the power generated by the wind turbine to the generator and to get the corresponding speed.

 

Usually the speed of the wind turbine is very low, far from the speed required by the generator power generation, must be achieved through the growth of the gearbox gear sub-growth, so also the gearbox called the growth box.

 

A gearbox is a mechanism for increasing/decreasing by deceleration/increasing torque. It consists of two or more gears, one of which is driven by a motor. The output speed of the gearbox is inversely proportional to the gear ratio. Gearboxes are usually preferred in constant speed applications, such as conveyors and cranes, which provide increased torque.

 

The gearbox consists of a drive gear with a certain diameter, and the gear of another smaller gear connected to the drive mechanism (electric motors, wind turbines, diesel engines, etc.) (if the driven mechanism is higher than the drive mechanism) is connected to the driven mechanical load (if the driven mechanism should be less than the speed of the drive mechanism). Just speed/torque increase/decrease or vice versa. This is a mechanical motor attachment.

 

The gearbox is subject to the force of action from the wind turbine and the reaction force generated when the gear drive is generated, and must have sufficient rigidity to withstand the force and torque effect to prevent deformation and ensure the quality of the transmission. The design of the gearbox body should be carried out in accordance with the layout arrangement, processing and assembly conditions, easy inspection and maintenance of the power transmission of the wind turbine. With the rapid development of the gearbox industry, more and more industries and different enterprises are used to gearbox, there are more and more enterprises in the gearbox industry to grow and develop.

 

According to the modular design principle of unit structure, the gearbox greatly reduces the type of components, suitable for large-scale production and flexible selection. The reducer spiral cone gears and oblique gears are made of high-quality alloy steel carburizing quenching, the face hardness is as high as 60 x 2HRC, and the grinding accuracy of the flanks is as high as 5-6 levels.
