Gas spring is a kind of part that can achieve support, cushioning, braking, height and angle adjustment, which is mainly used in the construction machinery, covering, door and other parts.

Gas spring is mainly composed of piston rod, piston, seal guide sleeve, filler, pressure cylinder and joint, etc. , in which the pressure cylinder is a closed cavity, the internal filling is inert gas or oil and gas mixture, the pressure in the cavity is several times or dozens of times the atmospheric pressure. When the gas spring is in action, the movement of the piston rod is realized by utilizing the pressure difference on both sides of the piston. Gas springs have different structures and types to meet different use needs, construction machinery mainly uses compressed gas springs, this type of gas spring mainly plays a supporting role, only the shortest, the longest two working positions, in the stroke can not stop on their own.

The movement of the piston rod is realized by using the pressure difference from which the cross-sectional area of the piston rod is smaller than that of the piston. Due to fundamental differences in principle, gas springs have significant advantages over ordinary springs: relatively slow speed, little change in dynamic forces (generally within 1:1.2), easy to control.

The disadvantage is that the relative volume is not a small coil spring, high cost, relatively short life. Unlike mechanical springs, gas springs have a near-linear elastic curve. The elasticity coefficient of the standard gas spring is between 1.2 and 1.4, and other parameters can be defined flexibly according to requirements and operating conditions.
