Ultra-high speed device

You may not think of medical devices running at super high RPM. However, there are some interesting applications where the design engineer achieves the therapeutic purpose of the device by utilizing very high rotational speed design.

In medical and dental applications, high-speed delivery ranges from dental drills to resection devices used to remove plaque from blocked arteries and veins in the legs.

In dental applications, power transmission is relatively simple. In vascular application, rotation effect achieves therapeutic effect; However, this operation may cause severe wear and tear to the conveying equipment.

Various types of medical catheters utilize a very high RPM function in a tiny confined space at the tip of the catheter. This creates a point of failure unless specialized, highly abrasive components are added to the design.

This is where the tiny metal bushing enters the picture.
