U.S. Machine Orders Jump 56% in June from a Month Earlier

Orders for U.S. manufacturing technology jumped to 3. $46.7 billion, an increase of 56 per cent over May 2020. Total orders were down 6% from June 2019. By June 2020, orders for new machines totalled 16. $900 million, down 26% from total orders in the first half of 2019. Orders for manufacturing technology fell 45 percent year-on-year in May from a year earlier, according to U.S. machine tool data in May, and in the shadow of the recession, the June figures were encouraging, jumping 56 percent.
