The CNC lathe determines the shortest cutting feed route in part processing

Short cutting feed path can effectively improve production efficiency and reduce tool wear. When arranging the cutting feed route for roughing or semi-finishing, the rigidity of the processed parts and the processability of the processing should be taken into consideration at the same time, and do not lose sight of the other.

Figure 2.9 is a schematic diagram of the arrangement of several different cutting feed routes during rough turning. Among them, Figure 2.9(a) shows the route of using the closed compound cycle function of the numerical control system to control the feed of the turning tool along the contour of the workpiece; it is the "triangular" feed route; Figure 2.9(c) is the "rectangular" feed Give the route.

For the above three cutting feed routes, after analysis and judgment, it can be known that the total cutting length of the rectangular cycle feed route is the shortest, that is, under the same conditions, the cutting time (excluding the empty stroke) is the shortest. The tool wear is small. In addition, the block format of rectangular cycle processing is relatively simple, so when formulating the processing plan, it is recommended to use the "rectangular" feed route.
