On the C axis, the feedback element (usually a high-resolution encoder) is directly mounted on the elbow arm, and the position is directly read out. On a small pipe bender, if the encoder may interfere with the pipe, it can be operated through a parallel link. The bearing at the connection must have very small tolerances to reduce wandering and maintain accuracy. The B axis of the pipe bender is usually driven by a several-stage reduction mechanism. Install the feedback encoder on the final drive shaft to optimize the accuracy and repeatability.
