Singapore's , Manufacturing Output Rose 13.7% Year-on-year in August, Breaking a Three-month Decline

Singapore's manufacturing output rose 13.7 per cent year-on-year, excluding biopharmaceuticals, according to the latest estimates released by the Economic Development Board on September 25th, breaking a three-month decline in manufacturing output. On a seasonally adjusted basis, manufacturing output increased by 13.9% month-on-month, while that of biopharmaceuticals, excluding biopharmaceuticals, increased by 4.8% month-on-month. In all areas, electronic output rose 44.2% year-on-year in August, mainly driven by the semiconductor sector. The output value of precision engineering industry increased by 9.4%, the output value of biopharmaceutical industry increased by 8.4% and the chemical industry increased by 3.1%. The general manufacturing sector fell by 18.6 per cent and transport projects contracted by 36.0 per cent.
