Among the various precision parts processing parts, many parts have threads, and the threads are very versatile. They are used for connection (or fixing), for transmitting power, and for slowing down. The helical lines of multi-threads are equally spaced along the axis. The problem of equidistant distribution is called splitting (dividing line). The size of the isometric error affects the threading accuracy and service life of the thread. The multi-thread thread can move several times the pitch every time it makes one rotation. It is mostly used in fast mechanisms. A thread formed by a spiral is called a single thread, and a thread formed by two or more axially equally spaced spirals is called a multi-thread.
Machining multi-threads on a CNC lathe is also one of the commonly used processing methods. Machining multi-threads on a CNC lathe can greatly improve machining accuracy and production efficiency.
The senior operator of Asia American Precision will explain the processing method of multi-thread precision parts:
General technical requirements for multi-thread
When processing multi-line bursts, the distance between two adjacent teeth in the same spiral should be one lead, and the cutting depth of the two spirals should be the same.
2. Clamping of multi-thread thread turning tools
The tip of the groove turning tool should be the same height as the workpiece axis, and the bisector of the angle between the two cutting edges should be perpendicular to the workpiece axis.
Correct the knife template with thread to avoid thread half-angle error.
Three, multi-thread thread turning notes
1. When turning the second spiral, the positioning point should be offset by one pitch.
2. The fit of the thread is centered on the middle diameter, therefore, the tolerance of the middle diameter must be guaranteed when processing the thread.
3. The pattern angle of the pattern should be correct.
4. When processing precision parts, the surface roughness of the two sides of the thread profile should be small.
