In the process of processing precision parts, in order to ensure the processing accuracy, before processing, the position of the workpiece on the machine tool should be determined and fixed to accept processing or inspection. The process of positioning and clamping the workpiece on the machine tool or in the fixture" is called clamping.

The installation of the artifact contains two aspects:

Positioning: The process of determining the correct position of a workpiece on a machine tool or in a fixture is called positioning.

Clamping: The operation of fixing the workpiece after positioning to keep it in the same position during processing is called clamping.

Let's let the senior operator of Asia America Precision explain how the processing of sleeve parts is positioned in the clamping

    1. Selection of positioning reference for sets of parts

The main positioning reference for outerwear parts is the center of the inner and outer circles. The outer surface and the center of the inner hole have a high degree of coaxiality, which requires repeated clamping and processing in order to ensure the technical requirements of the part pattern.

    2. Clamping scheme for sets of parts

    (1) When precision parts are processed on sleeve parts with large wall thickness, when the parts are positioned in the outer circle, the three-jaw self-centering chuck can be directly used for clamping. When the axial size of the outer circle is small, it can be processed with Positioning and clamping of the combined end face, such as reverse claw clamping; when the workpiece is longer, the center can be added, and then the processing accuracy is judged according to the length of the workpiece. Whether to add a center frame or a knife holder, use "one clip, one top and one Hold" clamp.

    (2) When the set of parts is positioned with an inner hole, a mandrel can be used for clamping; when the coaxiality of the inner and outer circles of the part is high, a small taper mandrel can be used for clamping; when the workpiece is longer; A small section of 60° cone surface is machined from each of the two ends of the orifice, and two rounded top positioning fixtures are used.

    (3) When the wall thickness of the sleeve parts is small, that is, the thin-walled sleeve parts, the three-jaw self-centering chuck clamping will cause the workpiece to deform, and the axial clamping and the rigid slotted sleeve clamping can be used Heyuan arc soft claw clamping and other methods.

    1) Axial clamping method. The axial clamping method is to change the thin-walled sleeve parts from radial clamping to axial clamping.

    2) Rigid slotted sleeve clamping method. The thin-walled sleeve parts are clamped by a three-jaw self-centering chuck. The parts processed by precision parts are only subjected to the clamping force of the three-jaw. The clamping contact area is small and the clamping force is uneven. It is easy to deform the parts.
