Japan's manufacturing PMI fell below the growth line for the 17th consecutive month, suggesting the country's economic recovery has all but stalled. Japan's manufacturing purchasing managers' index (PMI) started at 47.3 in September, essentially the same as its previous value of 47.2, according to a new report released by IHS Markit PMI on Wednesday, September 23. It was the 17th consecutive month that the index was below the line of 50.0. Specific data showed that Japan's private sector output fell in September, under pressure from the manufacturing PMI index as a whole.
