In the process of precision machining, the process of cutting metal is carried out under the conditions of higher cutting temperature and severe friction. Therefore, in the process of processing precision parts, the length of the tool life and the level of cutting efficiency, Depending on the tool material, the tool material determines the fundamental factors of the cutting performance of the tool, which has a great influence on the efficiency, the quality of the processing, the cost of the processing and the durability of the tool.
The process performance of precision machining tool materials also has a great influence on the manufacturing of the tool itself and the quality of the sharpening. Therefore, the cutting material of the tool needs to meet the following five requirements.
1. High hardness: The hardness of the tool material needs to be higher than the hardness of the workpiece material to cut the metal, and the hardness should be above 60HRC at room temperature.
Second, high wear resistance: Wear resistance is expressed as the ability of the tool material to resist wear. Generally, the higher the hardness, the better the wear resistance of the material.
Three, sufficient strength and toughness: the tool material needs to have sufficient strength and toughness to ensure that the tool can withstand sufficient total cutting force, impact and vibration during the normal cutting process of precision machining to prevent the tool from chipping or brittleness fracture.
4. High heat resistance: Heat resistance is also called hard heat, which refers to the ability of tool materials to maintain cutting performance at high temperatures. It is the main indicator to measure the performance of tool materials.
Fifth, good manufacturability: In order to facilitate the production of knives, it is required that the knives have good machinability and heat treatment processes. Machinability mainly refers to cutting performance and welding performance. Heat treatment refers to small heat treatment deformation, thin decarburized layer and good hardenability.
