Walter further expands the DX18 groove and cut-off blade family with two new tools: the new one-piece square rod G4011-P is designed to be a versatile tool for all common grooving and cut-off machining, and the G4041-P cut-off plate with the enhanced tool bar is optimized for large-cut deep grooves and cut-offs. Walter introduced the G4014-P series with "SmartLock" blade locks to the market as early as March. SmartLock makes it easy to change blades within the machine - even in tight spaces, such as automatic core-walking machines and multi-spindle machines, thanks to the clever design of the locking mechanism on the side of the tool rod. The result is up to 70% savings in blade replacement time.
Both new DX18 grooves and cut-off blades are secured by Torx Plus locking screws. The blades on the G4011-P bar can be operated from top to bottom, simplifying the reverse use of the knife rod. The DX18 blade seat form factor and design improve process reliability: the blade seat is positioned centrally with the V-position slot on the blade. This form factor fits the design to prevent assembly errors, reduce vibration and achieve higher knife change accuracy.
For grooving and grooving, the general purpose one-size-fits-all square tool bar G4011-P (25 × 25 mm) achieves a grooving width of 2 to 3 mm and a grooving depth of 10 mm or 17.5 mm. Cut-off plate G4041 with enhanced shank... R/L-P is available in right-handed, left-handed and reverse patterns with plate heights of 26 mm and 32 mm, or a knife rod with precision internal cooling on the front and rear face, or a knife rod without internal cooling. Walter offers a G4014-P system with SmartLock with a tool size of 10 - 20 mm, a blade width of 1.5 - 3 mm, and a cut-off diameter of up to 35 mm. If batch processing of small parts is involved, the advantages of the system will make it a new benchmark.
