The cutting fluid plays an important role in the CNC machining of aluminum alloy parts. Reasonable use of lubricating fluid can improve the processing conditions, so as to greatly improve the quality and efficiency of CNC machining of aluminum alloy parts.

The heat generated by deformation and friction in CNC machining of aluminum alloy parts can be rapidly extended to the workpiece, which makes it difficult to accurately control the size of the workpiece and requires greater cutting force. Correct selection of metal cutting fluid can not only reduce cutting temperature, reduce tool wear, prolong tool life, but also reduce the surface roughness of the workpiece, reduce cutting power consumption. The use of cutting fluid, not only depends on the performance of the cutting fluid itself, but also affected by the workpiece material, processing methods and tool materials.

Aluminum alloy parts processing the use of cutting fluid, can timely take away the heat generated by cutting, large flow of cutting fluid scouring effect, so that the chip can be timely from the processed surface, cleaning fixture and machine tool plate, so that the workpiece to achieve good processing quality.

Cutting fluids can be roughly divided into two series: water-insoluble (oil-based) and water-soluble (water-based) cutting fluids. Oil based cutting fluid (also called cutting oil), based on mineral oil, used in harsh machining applications. Low viscosity for washing and cooling applications, such as deep hole processing, high viscosity for intermittent cutting, such as gear cutting, heavy turning, etc.

In the process of aluminum alloy cutting, the selection of emulsion concentration, pressure and flow rate has a great influence on the quality of parts.

The use of cutting fluid concentration is too low, easy to occur rust, tool wear increase and processing quality reduction, antimicrobial performance decline, easy to corrupt smelly and other problems. On the contrary, if the cutting fluid concentration is too high, it will not only bring about an increase in processing costs, but also may lead to the cutting fluid cleaning and cooling decline, defoaming decline, the operator's eyes and respiratory tract irritation, skin allergy and a series of problems.

General CNC machine tools are equipped with common chip cooling system, processing requirements are higher with the selection of central cooling system. The cutting fluid of ordinary chip flusher demand can choose small pressure, large flow parameters, in time to cut the tropical, will be attached to the workpiece, guard plate, fixture chip away. In general, the pressure parameter for chip cooling is 0.04-0.06MPa.

Regarding the cutting fluid flow problem, it is not the greater the flow, the better, but should meet the conditions of the smaller the better, to achieve the total cost reduction. In order to facilitate heat dissipation and supply sufficient cutting fluid, the capacity of the water tank should be 3-5 times the flow of the system cooling pump.

Therefore, the selection of aluminum alloy processing cutting fluid is very important, not only to ensure good lubricity, rust resistance, but also to have a very good cooling and filtration, as far as possible to choose special aluminum alloy cutting fluid.
