How do we prevent leakage of glass into the gap of the metal seal?

There are also manufacturing methods that can be applied to glass to metal surfaces used in metal seals to change the surface of the metal and reduce the possibility of gaps that could lead to leakage. For example, we can use centerless grinding to modify the outer diameter surface finish of a metal bar. By changing the surface from a longitudinal feature to a radial feature perpendicular to the traverse length, the centerless surface acts as multiple "barriers", allowing the glass to adhere and preventing longitudinal leakage points.

Combining precautions such as these with good design, careful ECT, and visual inspection of parts for cracks and surface defects, the right partner can go a long way in ensuring that the glass-to-metal seal is airtight on day one and stays that way. Finally, you can rest assured that critical electronic components are 100% tested throughout the supply chain, using a variety of complex etch and helium leak tests, which can be said to be the final test to determine whether there is a leak in the electronics.
