Despite this, the development momentum of imported machine tools is still strong, from 2002, China has become the world's largest consumer of machine tools, machine tool imports for three consecutive years, in 2004 China's machine tool host consumption of up to $9.46 billion, domestic CNC machine tool manufacturing enterprises in the middle and high-grade and large-scale CNC machine tool research and development and foreign research and development gap is more obvious, more than 70% of these equipment and the vast majority of functional components are dependent on imports.
From this, we can see that domestic CNC machine tools, especially medium and high-grade CNC machine tools still lack of market competitiveness, the main reason is that the research and development depth of domestic CNC machine tools is not enough, the manufacturing level is still backward, service awareness and ability is lacking, CNC, system production application promotion is weak and the lack of numerical control personnel. We should see the situation, fully understand the shortcomings of domestic CNC machine tools, and strive to develop advanced technology, increase technological innovation and training services, in order to shorten the gap with developed countries.
