According to the CNC processing center processing form and processing requirements of different, the common knife library forms are mainly bucket-type knife library, disc robot knife library, chain knife library and so on. First, the CNC processing center to change the way ---- the robot to change the knife


The knife library, which is generally configured with a robot changer mechanism, often uses a disc-type knife library. The so-called robot knife change method, that is, when changing the knife, by the robot to grasp the knife, choose the knife and change the knife. Responsible for passing the tool between the spindle of the tool bank and the CNC machining center, returning the replaced CNC tool to the tool library, and pushing the tool to be used to the spindle. This method of knife change is characterized by both the new knife to be used and the old knife used to be grabbed at the same time. That is to say, grasping the knife and changing the knife at the same time, so compared to other ways to change the knife, with the knife change faster, the movement of the mechanical components is smaller and so on. It's a more mainstream way to change knives now.


Second, the CNC processing center to change the knife ---- to change the knife method


The so-called direct knife change means that the knife change process is completed by the knife library and spindle box, which is the most direct way to change the knife. The generally configured knife library is bucket-like. According to the knife change process, the knife library has no displacement to distinguish, the direct knife change method can be divided into knife library shift mode and knife library fixed way two. In the knife library shift mode, the knife library can be moved, before changing the knife, the knife library enters the knife change work area, after changing the knife in the exit area. This way of changing knives because the knife library occurs more movement, layout is more exquisite, flexibility and adaptability is poor. In the method of knife library fixation, the knife is selected mainly by the movement of the spindle box. The library can be stationary or position-only. The former can only carry out sequential knife selection, suitable for a small number of tools CNC machining center, while the latter can achieve trans-position knife selection. This method of knife selection reduces the movement of the knife library, can greatly simplify the design structure of the knife library, the control of the knife change process is also simple and reliable. Direct knife change is characterized by slow knife change speed, high failure rate, only in the early models used.


Third, the CNC processing center to change the knife ---- to change the head of the tower to change the knife


The turning tower head is a tool change that moves the required tool to the appropriate position by rotating the brick tower. It is generally sequential knife change, the advantage is compact structure, knife change time is very short, generally more used in the processing of crankshaft classes and other slender types of work parts and the need to complete multiple operations of complex processing occasions.


The automatic knife change device and the direct knife change method of the turntable head are similar, and are divided into two ways: the turntable knife frame change knife and the brick tower spindle head change knife. The turntable knife holder change method is through the rotation of the turntable head, to achieve automatic knife change action, the turntable spindle head change method also needs to be equipped with a turntable, but the tower spindle is not connected to the knife frame, but a number of different positions, octopus tenta-like distribution of the sub-spindle head, each spindle head in advance installed with each process needs to use the tool.


In CNC processing center processing, by rotating the turntable, each spindle head in accordance with the procedure instructions, in turn to the processing position, in order to achieve automatic knife change action. This method of knife change, because each spindle is concentrated on a tower, the stiffness of the tower spindle has a higher requirement, the number of tool spindles also has a certain limit. This method of knife change is mainly used in smaller CNC processing centers.
