If the workpiece is manually programmed, it is because you forgot to consider the tool radius in the programming. It is caused by carelessness. If it is software programming, the selected tool may be centered instead of tangent. Both programming methods will cause the workpiece Overcut.
2. The overcutting of the workpiece is another tool selection error. For example, a 16mm diameter milling cutter is used in the program, and the result is a 20mm milling cutter. Although the 4mm is not much different to the naked eye, the resulting workpiece will be smaller overall . This requires careful inspection before processing that the tool diameter is reasonable and unreasonable, and don't take a fluke.
3. Another reason for workpiece overcutting is that the workpiece coordinate system is entered incorrectly when zeroing. You must remember to offset the radius value of a zero bar, the tool compensation input is wrong, and the tool length and tool radius compensation must be entered correctly. If the tool length is 0.5mm, the workpiece will be moved 0.5mm longer. For large workpieces, it cannot be used directly. Whether the tool radius compensation is positive or negative should be considered before tool compensation. Otherwise, the workpiece will be overcut. .
