Our highly specialized EDM process is ideal for pins, probes, and other small-diameter solid metal parts that require consistent, accurate, and high-volume production. Our versatile EDM method can cut non-composite and non-coated materials, from copper to the hardest conductive metals, including molybdenum and tungsten.

EDM metal cutting is a deliberate process designed for cutting solid and conductive materials and is very accurate for these types of applications. Our method is particularly suitable for mass production of small parts with strict tolerances. The result is always free of burrs, and the cut width is small, usually 0.004" to 0.012" (0.1 to 0.3 mm). Our EDM process can cut diameters ranging from a few thousandths of an inch to a few inches; for the length of repetitive cutting parts from 0.5 inches (12 mm) to 18.0 inches (450 mm), our process is also extremely high Dimensional accuracy.

In addition, because EDM is optimized for complex shapes, perpendicularity, parallelism, and other end features are strictly controlled, and the corner radius is the smallest, which meets the requirements of square cutting and allows subsequent processes to add radii when needed.

Advantages of Cpk and Ppk

Our EDM metal cutting method also produces parts with high central tendency values, which is ideal for applications such as small diameter solids (less than 0.020 inches [0.50 mm]) that require high volume and high Cpk/Ppk. For example, we can use EDM to cut a precious metal wire with a diameter of 0.004 inches (0.1 mm) to a length of 1 inch (25 mm) with a length tolerance of +/- 0.001 inches, and the rounded end and Ppk are much higher than the standard minimum value of 1.33.

In addition, with our proprietary cutting machine and its advanced functions for performing work, our EDM process not only provides a high level of accuracy, repeatability and reliability; it also eliminates manual handling of cut parts, bending or scratches, etc. The need for process damage.
