A drill bit comprises a knife rod (1), which has a tip with two cutting inserts (5, 5') located on a main plane (C-C), and the cutting insert (5, 5') has a short central cutting edge with orientation on the common second plane (E-E). The cutting edge forms a point-like central cutting edge for entering the workpiece, and thus the drill bit is in pairs.
