On day 28, the dog pesticide was 81.1 percent effective 12 hours after infection. Treated and control dogs infected with fleas on day 1 produced flea eggs 12 and 24 hours after treatment (0-11 eggs and 1-17 eggs, 4-90 eggs in insecticide-treated dogs eggs and 0-118 eggs in control dogs at 12 and 24 hours, respectively).
