Sometimes, during the forging process, the intermediate billet or forging is locally cooled to room temperature, which is called intermediate cooling. For example, in order to carry out flaw detection or cleaning defects of the blank, intermediate cooling is required. Another example is multi-fire forging, first forging the middle part and then both ends. After the middle part is forged, it should be cooled in the middle, so as not to affect the quality when reheating the two ends. The determination of the intercooling specification is the same as the cooling specification after forging.
