Bearings are an important part of mechanical transmission. When processing precision parts of bearings, there are alloys specially used to manufacture bushes and bearing linings in sliding bearings. Such alloys are generally referred to as bearing alloys. When the shaft rotates, there is violent friction between the journal and the bush, resulting in surface heat, wear and even "biting." Therefore, the shaft alloy must have the following five characteristics when processing precision parts of the bearing:

(1) Sufficient strength to bear the load.

(2) Sufficient strength and wear resistance to avoid premature wear and failure.

(3) Good anti-friction properties and wear resistance.

(4) Good corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity.

(5) Sufficient toughness and plasticity to resist impact and vibration.

These requirements can be met by bearing alloys. The structure of the shaft alloy is usually composed of a hard matrix with uniformly distributed hard spots, or vice versa, consisting of a hard matrix plus soft spots. When the shaft is running, the soft substrate is quickly worn away leaving pits, the hard particles are protruded due to wear resistance, the raised hard points support the shaft, and the pits can store lubricating oil, so they can be reduced Friction factor. In addition, the soft matrix structure has impact resistance, vibration damping and good running-in properties. Therefore, when machining bearings for precision parts, the shaft alloy is an indispensable choice.
