August Data Show That China's Auto Production and Sales Increased year-on-year for the 5th Consecutive Month

The latest data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers show that in August 2020, China's auto production and sales situation was generally stable, with production falling slightly month-on-month, sales growth slightly, and year-on-year growth continued, with the year-on-year growth rate of commercial vehicles still remarkable. In August, auto production and sales reached 2.119 million units and 2.186 million units, respectively, down 3.7% month-on-month, with sales up 3.5%, and production and sales up 6.3% and 11.6% year-on-year. From January to August, auto production and sales fell 9.6% and 9.7% year-on-year, respectively, to 14.432 million and 14.551 million vehicles, a decrease of 2.2 and 3.0 percentage points, respectively, compared with January-July.
