Aluminium collar with set screw

Testrite manufactures aluminum collars to fit our 1/8" incremental tubes. These can be customized to fit any size round tube up to 1-1/2" OD. An optional set screw or knob provides locking at a given height. Do I need to install accessories on the collar?
