When drilling, select a high-speed steel drill bit processed by a special titanium alloy, and increase the rigidity by thickening the core and minimizing its length. When the cobalt bit is drilled into 1-1.5mm, the tool will be retracted, and then the tool will be retracted after drilling. To improve heat dissipation, lubrication conditions and reduce elasticity. Do not allow the drill to spin in the hole without feeding, so as not to cause work hardening. In actual processing, the measured hole diameter is about 0.1mm smaller than the drill diameter. This is one of the characteristics of titanium alloy materials. Therefore, a drill with a diameter of about 0.1mm larger than the standard diameter can be used for drilling. The center drill is required before drilling. When tapping, the processing effect can be improved by the following two ways
(1) The structure of the feed tap improves the rigidity of the tap and reduces the contact area with the processed material. The method is to thicken the cone core, reduce the friction between the chips and the rake face, select the rake angle of the tap to be 8-10 degrees, increase the tap back angle and widen the chip flute during processing, reduce the width of the edge discrimination, use the skipping tap, etc. . In addition, the spiral groove can increase the sharpness of the tap, reduce the cutting force, prevent the tap from breaking and improve the processing quality; it is conducive to chip removal, so that titanium chips can be discharged along the spiral groove to the outside of the workpiece, avoiding the tap jam and improving the processing conditions; The liquid can easily enter the cutting area, and the advantages of cooling and lubricity of the bridle tap are improved. It was confirmed during processing that satisfactory results can be achieved when tapping threaded holes above M3 on the machining center using a machine tapping tap with a spiral groove
(2 Tolerance requirements for the threaded bottom hole design require requirements for the diameter tolerance of the threaded bottom hole. On the premise of meeting the thread accuracy requirements, the threaded bottom hole should be processed as far as possible to the upper difference of the thread minor diameter. If necessary, the hole can be drilled after drilling. To meet the tolerance requirements, when drilling titanium alloy materials, a drill with a diameter of about 0.1mm larger than the bottom hole is required to offset the rebound amount and a sharp drill must be used to drill the bottom hole to reduce the surface hardening layer of the threaded bottom hole. When tapping a threaded hole in the center, a floating tapping collet is required to offset the coordination error between the spindle and the feed, and the end of the bottom hole is chamfered before tapping to enhance the accuracy of tapping. Choose a slower speed to ensure smooth cutting
(3) The coolant used for wire and drilling is the same. It is not recommended to use chlorine coolant. Because in the cutting process, the cutting fluid decomposes at high temperature to release hydrogen, which will cause hydrogen embrittlement after being absorbed by titanium. At the same time, chlorine may also cause high temperature stress corrosion cracking of titanium alloy. When drilling shallow holes, electrolytic cutting fluid can be used to drill deep holes. When using N32 machine oil and kerosene, the ratio is 31.5, and vulcanized cutting fluid can also be used. The cooling fluid for titanium alloy processing is suitable to prolong the life of cutting tools. It is forbidden to use low melting point metals and their alloys, lead or zinc-based alloys, copper-tin and cadmium-based alloys for tools, fixtures or temporary fasteners, and titanium alloys The tools and fixtures or other devices in contact must be clean and free of dirt. Low melting point metals such as lead, zinc tin and cadmium are not allowed to remain on the surface of the processed titanium alloy. If there is any residue, it should be carefully cleaned with hydrofluoric acid and ferrous sulfate solution. When loading and unloading cleaned titanium alloy workpieces, it is necessary to prevent grease and fingerprint contamination to avoid salt stress corrosion and fracture of titanium alloy workpieces
