The parameters that need to be marked to describe fasteners are: product name (standard), specification, material, strength grade, surface treatment. e.g. DIN912, M4-0.7x8, SCM435, 12.9, blackened.
1. Name (standard)
Note: For screws that do not have a standard and are non-standard, drawings need to be provided.
For example, DIN912, Chinese name is: hexagonal cylinder head screw, this is the product name.
However, the most accurate approach, still need to call the standard, because the GB70 is the same name;
The world's most influenied standards are: German Standard (DIN), International Standard (ISO), China National Standard (GB), American Standard (ANSI), Japan Standard (JIS).
2. Specs.
The general screw salutation is the tooth pattern name diameter . . . screw length.
Dental address diameter, commonly used in metric: M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, M12, etc.
Commonly used in the United States are: 4-40, 6-32, 8-32, 10-24, 1/4-20, 5/16-18, 3/8-16, 1/2-13, etc.
The screw length, on the other hand, refers to the effective length of the buried object. For example: the sink screw is loaded with the total length, the half-sink screw is added to the length of half the head, and the cylindrical head screw length does not include the head size. Such as:
For specifications, the full name is best to add pitch. For example, M4-0.7x8, 4 finger diameter is 4mm, 0.7 refers to the distance between the two peaks is 0.7mm, 8 refers to the effective length of the buried object is 8mm.
To simplify and not write pitch, we default coarse teeth to standard teeth because they are the most common; This metric only, the United States products or to mark the distance.

3. Material.
Materials according to the most common order are: carbon steel, stainless steel, rust-free iron, copper, aluminum and so on.
Carbon steel is divided into low carbon steel (e.g. C1008/C1010/C1015/C1018/C1022), medium carbon steel (e.g. C1035), high carbon steel (C1045/C1050), alloy steel (SCM435/10B21/40Cr).
General C1008 materials are playing ordinary grade products, such as 4.8 grade screws, ordinary grade nuts; C1035 with 8.8 screws, C1045/10B21/40Cr with 10.9 screws, 40Cr/SCM435 with 12.9 screws.
Stainless steel with SS302/SS304/SS316 is the most common. Of course, now also popular a large number of SS201 products, even lower nickel content products, we call non-authentic stainless steel products;
4. Intensity level.
Strength grade mainly refers to carbon steel fasteners.
The common strength grades of carbon steel screws are: 4.8, 5.8, 6.8, 8.8, 10.9 and 12.9. Nuts are corresponding to: 4, 6, 8, 10, 12.
In general, screws below level 8.8 are called ordinary screws, while screws above level 8.8 (including 8.8 levels) are high-strength screws. The difference is that high-strength screws are all subject to conditioning heat treatment.
5. Surface treatment.
Surface treatment is mainly to increase corrosion resistance, but also part of the color, so mainly for carbon steel products, generally need to go through surface treatment.
Common surface treatments are: blackening, galvanizing, copper plating, nickel plating, chrome plating, silver plating, gold plating, Dacro, hot-dip zinc, etc.
