Honeywell Opens Branch in Wuhan

Honeywell launched its emerging markets China headquarters project in Wuhan, becoming the first world 500 company to set up a company in Wuhan this year.

On May 19, Honeywell held the opening ceremony of the Emerging Markets Headquarters and Innovation Center in Wuhan's East Lake High-tech Zone.

Honeywell's emerging markets headquarters cover the management, research and development, sales and other services of the company's three business groups of intelligent building technology, feature materials and technology, security and productivity solutions, including logistics automation data acquisition solutions, office data integration solutions, air quality management solutions, and more.

In January, Honeywell signed a contract with Wuhan East Lake High-tech District for Honeywell's Emerging Markets headquarters project. Wuhan East Lake High-tech Zone was founded in 1988, has won the first batch of national high-tech zone, the second national independent innovation demonstration zone and China (Hubei) free trade test area Wuhan zone and other titles.

Among the 168 national high-tech zones in the country, Donghu High-tech Zone's knowledge creation and technological innovation ability ranked third. At present, the region gathered 100,000 enterprises, including nearly 100 fortune 500 companies in the world.

On March 21, Honeywell registered Hossein Industrial Technology Co., Ltd. in Wuhan as Honeywell's emerging market headquarters in China, the first World 500 company to set up a company in Wuhan this year, according to information provided by Honeywell.

Honeywell China President Zhang Yufeng said Honeywell is willing to further strengthen cooperation with Wuhan, with the talent and market advantages of China's central and western regions to promote scientific and technological innovation, better radiation of the vast Midwest market and meet its market demand.

He noted that the move would further deepen Honeywell's Eastern development strategy in China, which serves the East.

Honeywell currently employs more than 50 wholly-owned companies and joint ventures in more than 30 cities in China, including more than 20 factories and employs about 11,000 people in China. Honeywell's four major business groups, Aerospace, Intelligent Building Technology, Feature Materials and Technology, and Security and Productivity Solutions, are all based in China, where Shanghai is the company's Asia Pacific headquarters.
